Day 1 – Sat 14 Oct (Dinner, overnight in VICENZA)
We begin the tour in the afternoon with a walking tour of the historic centre of Vicenza famous for its many Palladian masterpieces, after which we conclude with a hearty dinner in a typical restaurant.
Day 2 -Sun 15 Oct (Lunch, overnight in VICENZA)
We take our first excursion of the trip to visit the lovely towns of Marostica and Thiene, coming back after lunch to enjoy the afternoon in Vicenza at your leisure.
Day 3 - Mon 16 Oct (Lunch, overnight in VICENZA)
This morning we head for the historic city of Verona by train. The walking tour with our guide takes up only the morning, followed by lunch and then time at leisure. With individual train tickets each of you can come back to Vicenza by yourselves any time you feel like it.
Day 4 - Tue 17 Oct (Overnight in VICENZA)
We explore two Palladian country villas just outside of Vicenza this morning, leaving the rest of the day at your leisure.
Day 5 - Wed 18 Oct (Lunch & Dinner, overnight near CISON DI VALMARINO)
As we make our way towards the province of Treviso today, we shall stop over at two of the most picturesque towns of the area, Bassano del Grappa and Asolo, each with its own distinctive features.
Day 6 - Thu 19 Oct (Lunch, overnight near CISON DI VALMARINO)
Something very different for this morning: a visit to the village of Cison di Valmarino, listed among the most picturesque of Italy, and then a very pleasant walk up the forested Via dell’Acqua, following a brook up to where we shall have our lunch.
Day 7 - Fri 20 Oct (Lunch, overnight near CISON DI VALMARINO)
Our excursion today takes us through the spectacular Prosecco Hills and a visit to the charming suburb of Serravalle in the town of Vittorio Veneto.
Day 8 - Sat 21 Oct (Lunch, overnight in MONTEGROTTO TERME)
Leaving the countryside for our next destination, we pass by the lovely provincial capital of Treviso, where we shall stop for a visit before we head on to the Euganean Hills to spend the next three nights in thermal resort town of Montegrotto Terme.
Day 9 - Sun 22 Oct (Lunch, overnight in MONTEGROTTO TERME)
Our outing today takes us to the village of Arquà Petrarca, as well as visit to a farm which produces one of the most unusual liquors in Italy which even the Venetians do not know about! The afternoon is then left free to give you the chance to experience the thermal spring waters right within your hotel!
Day 10 - Mon 23 Oct (Lunch, overnight in MONTEGROTTO TERME)
A full-day excursion today will take us out to the southern tip of the Venetian lagoon to visit the fishing town of Chioggia, and then after lunch to the natural reserve of the Po Delta, where we shall take boat tour of the wetlands, an area famed for birdwatching where you might even see some flamingoes!
Day 11 - Tue 24 Oct (Lunch, overnight in VENICE)
We leave the Euganean Hills today to visit the provincial capital of Padua, a major cultural centre where Galileo Galilei once taught at university. We then make our way after lunch to Venice, travelling first along the Brenta Canal, and then by boat to our hotel passing through the Grand Canal.
Day 12 - Wed 25 Oct (Overnight in VENICE)
From our hotel this morning, we shall make our way to St. Mark Square following a special route which reveals a part of this city little known by tourists. A special tour of the St. Mark Basilica and the Doge’s Palace follows after.
Day 13 - Thu 26 Oct (Lunch, overnight in VENICE)
A boat excursion today takes you to some of the hidden treasures of the Venetian lagoon very rarely seen by the average tourist.
Day 14 - Fri 27 Oct (Dinner, overnight in VENICE)
This morning takes us on a walk to discover some very interesting sights and activities through the back streets of Cannaregio district. The afternoon is at your leisure to do some last-minute shopping before we meet again for your final dinner at a local bacaro.
